Common questions
My conversion failed or is taking a long time.
A convert normally finishes in a couple of minutes. Longer usually means a long or unusually dense recording, and a failure usually means the audio could not be separated cleanly. A clean solo piano recording or a piano cover converts far better than a dense full-band mix. If it keeps failing on the same file, send it to us and we will look.
The transcription has wrong notes in it.
It will, in places. The app is listening to a recording rather than reading a score, so dense chords, fast inner voices and heavy production are where it slips. Try the Easy or Medium level, which simplify away much of what a machine gets wrong, and use your ears on the rest. If a whole section is nonsense rather than approximate, tell us which piece and where.
Which level should I start on?
Easy, more often than people expect. It is a single melody line with a simple bass, and it will sound like the song within a day rather than within a month. Medium adds left-hand chords once that is comfortable. Original is the full transcription and is there to grow into.
Wait Mode is not hearing my piano.
Microphone listening is reliable for single notes on an acoustic piano and gets harder with chords, background noise and very quiet playing. Move the phone closer to the strings, turn off anything making noise nearby, and play a little firmer. If it is still unreliable, use the on-screen keyboard or connect a MIDI keyboard, both of which are exact.
Can I connect a MIDI keyboard?
Yes, over USB with a camera adapter or over Bluetooth MIDI. Once connected it replaces microphone listening entirely, which makes Wait Mode and scoring precise.
Can I use the app without the internet?
Partly. The 100 bundled pieces, importing MIDI and MusicXML, and all practice work offline. Converting audio needs a connection because the transcription runs on a server.
Where did my sheet music go after I reinstalled?
Purchases and quota are tied to an anonymous identifier that survives reinstalling on the same device. If a conversion you paid for is missing, use Restore Purchases first, then write to us with roughly when you converted it.
How do I cancel Pro?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel there. You keep Pro until the current period ends.
I want my uploaded audio erased.
Email us and say roughly when you used the app, and we will remove your material. Because there is no account we have no way to find it from your name alone, so the timing helps.
