Converting audio into notation cannot happen on a phone, so some of your material goes to a server. This page says exactly which parts, and what happens to them there.

| What you do | What reaches our server |
|---|---|
| Convert an audio file or a link | The audio itself, so it can be separated and transcribed |
| Record your own playing and convert it | That recording |
| Import a MIDI or MusicXML file | Nothing. This runs entirely on your device |
| Open a bundled classical piece | Nothing. They ship inside the app |
| Practise, score a run, follow a plan | Nothing. Practice happens on your device |
Alongside the audio we receive an anonymous identifier, so that your conversion quota and your purchases survive reinstalling the app. It is a random string. It is not your name, your email or your device's advertising identifier, and we cannot use it to work out who you are.
Your audio is passed through an automated pipeline that separates the instruments, detects the notes and the beat, and writes the result as notation. That is the only thing it is used for.
We do not use your audio or your notation to train any model. We do not sell it. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or any third party beyond the cloud provider that runs the processing on our behalf.
How long it is kept. Your uploaded audio is deleted automatically one day after your notation has been produced. The notation itself is kept for 30 days so you can download it again, and is then removed. Nothing is retained beyond that, and you can ask us to erase your material sooner at any time by writing to customer-care@velorahealth.io.
The processing service runs on Google Cloud Platform, which acts as our data processor and stores the files on our behalf. No other company receives your audio.
Deleting the app removes all of it from your phone.
Wait Mode can listen through the microphone to hear whether you played the right note. That listening happens on your device, in the moment, and is not recorded or transmitted. The microphone is also used if you deliberately record your own playing in order to convert it, and in that case the recording you made is uploaded like any other audio you choose to convert.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card details. The app asks Apple whether a purchase is active and receives an answer.
There is no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and no third-party analytics SDK collecting your behaviour. Nothing in the app follows you anywhere.
PianoSheet AI is rated for all ages. It asks for no personal information from anyone, of any age.
You can ask what we hold, ask for it to be erased, or ask a question about any of the above. Because there is no account, please write from the address you would like us to reply to and tell us roughly when you used the app so we can find the right material.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your material, the date above changes and the section that changed says so. We will not begin doing something new under wording that says we do not.
