PawBeat keeps your pet's records on your device and your own private iCloud, and episode videos never leave your phone at all. The only time anything is sent to us is when you choose to generate an AI brief. Here is exactly how it works.

PawBeat ("the App") is published by Velora Health ("we", "us", "our"). For any privacy question or request, contact customer-care@velorahealth.io.
PawBeat is a pet-care tracking tool. It is not a veterinary device and does not provide veterinary advice; alerts simply surface your own logged data against the threshold your vet set. Always follow your veterinarian's guidance.
You can log information about your pet:
About you, we use only: an anonymous Apple identifier from Sign in with Apple (used solely for the AI brief quota) and your subscription status from Apple. We do not collect your email, contacts, location, usage analytics or advertising identifiers.
Readings, medications, episodes (except video), weight and quality-of-life logs are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData and synced through your own private iCloud (Apple CloudKit). This data resides in your personal Apple account; Velora Health cannot access it and operates no backend database that stores it.
If you record a video of an episode to show your vet, the video is stored only on your device. Episode videos are deliberately excluded from iCloud sync and are never uploaded to us or any third party. You share them only if and when you choose to (for example, showing your vet in person or sending it yourself).
When you choose to generate a brief for your vet, the App sends a summary of your pet's data (profile, breathing-rate trend, medication compliance, episode timestamps and severity - never video) over an encrypted TLS connection to our PawBeat API (Google Cloud Run).
Our API is stateless: it forwards the summary to Anthropic (Claude), which writes the brief and returns it to your device. The data and the brief are not stored on our servers; the only record kept is a monthly usage count (your account identifier plus the month). Anthropic processes the request solely to generate the brief and, per its API terms, does not use API data to train its models. Every brief carries the note: "AI-generated summary of your own logged data - not veterinary advice."
Reminders and threshold alerts are local notifications generated on your device from your own readings and the target your vet set. They are data-surfacing only - PawBeat never makes dosing or treatment suggestions.
PawBeat Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles all payment processing; we never receive or store your payment details.
We share data only with the providers needed to deliver these features:
PawBeat contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not collect location.
The records live in your own device and iCloud, so you control them: delete entries in the App, or remove the App and its iCloud data to erase everything (videos are removed with the App). You can also delete your account in the App, which removes the only record we hold - your monthly usage counter. Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) you may have rights to access or delete personal data; contact us and we will help.
PawBeat is intended for adult pet owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
