Terms of Use

DrumScribe is a practice tool. You supply music, the app produces a drum chart from it at four levels, and then gives you tools to play it: a play-along against the original recording, a fader that removes the record's drummer, corrections, and setlists.

The app is not a music library. It does not host, index, search or recommend any catalogue of recordings, and it does not help you find music. It works on the file or the link you give it.

You are responsible for having the right to use whatever you put into the app. That means audio you own, audio you recorded yourself, music in the public domain, or material you are otherwise licensed to use. By converting something you confirm that you have that right.

We do not check what you convert and we cannot give you permission you do not have. If you do not hold the rights to a recording, converting it here does not change that.

A transcription is a derivative of the underlying composition, and a separated stem is a derivative of the recording. So the chart, the drum stem and the drumless mix the app produces are for your own private study and practice. They are not yours to publish, distribute, sell, upload, or use in a public performance unless you hold or obtain the rights to the underlying work.

A chart produced from your own original playing, or from music in the public domain, is yours to do with as you wish.

Automatic transcription is imperfect. The app produces a best effort, not a verified edition, and it will make mistakes: hi-hats go missing on dense mixes and the time signature is occasionally wrong. The most detailed level is presented as a draft and carries a confidence figure for that reason. It is supplied for practice and is not represented as an accurate or publishable score.

The app sells conversion credits and a subscription, DrumScribe Pro. All payments are processed by Apple and governed by your App Store account terms and by Apple's standard licence agreement for App Store apps, which the app links from its own settings.

• Credits are consumed when a conversion is started and are not transferable between accounts
• An auto-renewing subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends
• You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings, not inside the app
• A free trial ends when the paid period begins, and unused trial time is forfeited on purchase
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy; we cannot issue them

Charts you have already made remain available to you after a subscription ends. Access to a chart you converted is not conditional on continuing to pay.

Do not use the app to infringe anyone's rights, do not decompile or reverse engineer it, do not resell access to it or to the conversion service, and do not attempt to overwhelm that service or drive it automatically. We may decline to process material or suspend access where these terms are being broken.

Conversion depends on a processing service that may be unavailable, slow, or changed, and a song that does not have an audible drum part in it will be declined rather than guessed at. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, a particular conversion time, or that any given recording can be converted at all. Charts you already have, the practice shelf and play-along continue to work without a connection.

The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it, including any claim brought against you in relation to material you chose to convert. Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
