Separating a song and transcribing its drum part cannot happen on a phone, so some of your material goes to a server. This page says exactly which parts, and what happens to them there.

| What you do | What reaches our server |
|---|---|
| Convert an audio file | The audio itself, so it can be separated and transcribed |
| Convert from a link | The audio, or the link, depending on which your phone could handle |
| Record yourself and convert it | That recording |
| Turn on the ready notification | A notification token for that one job, and nothing else |
| Read, edit or play a chart you have | Nothing. This happens on your device |
| Use the practice shelf | Nothing. It ships inside the app and works offline |
Nothing we receive identifies you. There is no user account, no anonymous profile and no advertising identifier attached to a conversion. A job carries the audio, the stage it has reached, and the chart when it is finished.
If you asked to be told when a chart is ready, the job also carries the notification token Apple issued to your device. It rides along with that single job and is removed when the job is, because a conversion is the only thing this service ever notifies about.
Your audio is passed through an automated pipeline that separates the drums from the rest of the mix, finds the beat and the hits, and writes the result out as a chart. That is the only thing it is used for.
We do not use your audio or your charts to train any model. We do not sell them. We do not share them with advertisers, data brokers or any third party beyond the cloud provider that runs the processing on our behalf.
How long it is kept. The audio you send is deleted one day after your chart has been produced, and the job record that goes with it, including the notification token, is removed on the same schedule. The links to your drum stem and drumless mix stop working after twelve hours, which is why the app downloads them to your phone as soon as they are ready. You can ask us to erase your material sooner at any time by writing to customer-care@velorahealth.io.
The processing service runs on Google Cloud Platform, which acts as our data processor and stores the files on our behalf. Notifications are delivered by Apple through its push service. No other company receives your audio.
When you paste a link, the app tries to fetch the audio on your phone first. That is the normal path and it means the audio reaches our server the same way an uploaded file does. If your device cannot fetch it, the link is passed to our service to fetch instead. Either way the only thing the link is used for is getting the audio that produces your chart.
You are responsible for having the right to use whatever you point the app at. This is covered in the terms of use.
Deleting the app removes all of it from your phone. Reducing a chart from the full transcription down to the simpler levels also happens on your device, not on our server.
The microphone is used in one situation only: when you deliberately record a song in order to convert it. That recording stays on your device unless you send it for transcription, and then it is handled exactly like any other audio you choose to convert. The app does not listen in the background.
Bluetooth is used only to find and connect an electronic drum kit, so the hits you play can be shown on the chart while you practise. Nothing about your kit, your playing or your Bluetooth environment is collected, stored or sent anywhere.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card details. The app asks Apple whether a purchase is active and receives an answer.
There is no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and no third-party analytics SDK collecting your behaviour. The app declares no tracking in its App Store privacy manifest and contains no advertising identifier. Nothing in it follows you anywhere.
DrumScribe asks for no personal information from anyone, of any age.
You can ask what we hold, ask for it to be erased, or ask a question about any of the above. Because there is no account, please write from the address you would like us to reply to and tell us roughly when you used the app so we can find the right material.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your material, the date above changes and the section that changed says so. We will not begin doing something new under wording that says we do not.
