Your skin data stays
on your phone.

Flarewell keeps your flush logs, symptoms and photos entirely on your device. The only thing it ever sends out is your approximate location - to look up the weather.

Last updated: June 2026

The short version
No account required. Flarewell works without any profile, login, or email.
Your logs and photos stay local. Flush levels, symptoms, triggers and skin photos are stored only on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Weather is the one exception. To find environmental triggers, the app sends your approximate coordinates to OpenWeather to fetch local weather and UV - never your health data.
We collect nothing. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs. Payments are handled by Apple.
1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Flarewell does not require registration, login, or any form of account creation, and we operate no servers that receive your data.

All data you enter - including flush severity, symptoms, triggers, protective factors, sleep hours, notes, and skin photos - is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

Your skin-condition data and photos are stored locally on your iOS device, subject to iOS system-level encryption and protected by your device's passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.

Flarewell does not use iCloud sync, CloudKit, or any cloud backup operated by us. If you delete the app, all associated data and photos are permanently removed from your device.

3. Location & Weather Data

To help you discover environmental triggers, Flarewell can automatically attach the current weather and UV index to your daily log. To do this, the app requests permission to access your location while you are using the app.

When you choose to fetch weather, your approximate coordinates are sent to OpenWeather (openweathermap.org), a third-party weather provider, solely to retrieve current conditions for your area. We send only your coordinates - never your symptoms, photos, or any health information.

Location access is optional. If you decline the permission, the rest of the app works normally; only automatic weather correlation is unavailable. OpenWeather's handling of requests is governed by its own privacy policy.

4. Photos & Camera

Flarewell lets you build a private photo timeline of your skin. With your permission, the app accesses your camera and/or photo library so you can add images to a daily log.

These photos are stored only on your device, as part of your local log. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party, and they are not included in any analytics.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Flarewell Premium is an auto-renewable subscription available through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or process any payment card information.

Subscription management (including cancellation) is handled through your Apple ID settings. Apple's privacy policy governs all payment-related data.

6. Third-Party Services

The only external service Flarewell contacts is OpenWeather, and only to fetch weather for your location as described above. Flarewell does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use:

7. PDF Export

When you export a PDF report for your dermatologist, the document is generated entirely on your device and shared directly through iOS's native share sheet (to email, AirDrop, Files, etc.). The PDF is not transmitted to or stored on any server operated by us.

8. Children's Privacy

Flarewell is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because we collect no data from any users, this concern does not apply in practice - but we note it for completeness.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store any of your personal data on our systems, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. All your data can be removed at any time simply by deleting the app from your device.
